Named for the African antelope-like its Impala predecessors, the Chevy Impala featured the graceful animal as its logo also. Soon, this badge would become synonymous with high performance. The 1967 Chevrolets underwent a facelift, creating a coke bottle shape that was exaggerated, and front and rear fenders had a pinched line along the top. The two-door Hardtop now has a long smooth roofline, sweeping down the trunk. The grille was extended to wrap around the front fenders and a collapsible steering column was added.
